Software Pro took Goalers from wireframes to a 5.0-star App Store launch, designing and building a polished goal-tracking and coaching app beloved by its early user community.

About This Project
Goalers is a sports-focused goal-tracking and personal coaching app designed to help athletes and fitness enthusiasts set, track, and achieve their performance goals. The founder came to Software Pro with a vision and detailed wireframes, seeking an engineering and design partner to bring the product to life and successfully navigate the Apple App Store submission process.
The Problem

The fitness app market is saturated with mediocre products. Goalers needed to differentiate through exceptional design quality, smooth animations, and an intuitive experience that felt native and premium on iOS, while also shipping on time and within budget.

Supporting multiple goal types (time-based, milestone-based, recurring), progress visualization, and coach-assigned targets required careful data modeling.

Navigating Apple's review guidelines, in-app purchase rules, and App Store Connect metadata to ensure first-submission approval.
Performance on Older Devices
Delivering 60fps animations and smooth transitions on devices back to iPhone XR required careful performance profiling and optimization.
Our Approach
How We Solved It
Software Pro led the full product lifecycle from design to deployment. Our design team rebuilt the wireframes into polished high-fidelity Figma screens with a custom design system, then our iOS engineers implemented the app in Swift with a Node.js backend. We used SwiftUI for the UI layer, Core Data for local caching, and custom animation sequences to deliver the premium feel the product demanded. The App Store submission was approved on the first attempt.

How We Work
Our Process
UI/UX Design & System
Rebuilt wireframes into a full Figma design system with 80+ screens, 3 breakpoints, and a custom component library.
Data Modeling & API Design
Designed the goal tracking data model, coach-athlete relationship schema, and REST API specification.
iOS Engineering
Built the SwiftUI iOS app with Core Data for offline support, custom animation engine, and full API integration.
Backend API & Admin
Built the Node.js/PostgreSQL backend, coach portal web app, and push notification infrastructure.
QA & App Store Submission
Ran 3 rounds of manual QA, performance profiling on 6 device types, then submitted to App Store and approved on first attempt.

What We Delivered
Goalers launched to immediate praise from its early user community, achieving a perfect 5.0-star App Store rating within the first week. The app was approved by Apple on the first submission with no revisions required. Users highlighted the design quality and smooth animations as key differentiators from competing apps. Goalers has since expanded its coaching network and is on track to launch an Android version.
