About This Project
ZIINA is a UAE-based peer-to-peer payments startup aiming to simplify money transfers for residents and businesses in the region. With a vision to become the go-to payment app in the Gulf, ZIINA needed a partner capable of building a production-grade mobile platform while simultaneously navigating the stringent licensing requirements of the Central Bank of UAE.

Our Approach
How We Solved It
Software Pro assembled a dedicated cross-functional team combining mobile engineers, backend architects, and a compliance-specialist embedded within the project. We built the iOS and Android apps in React Native for a unified codebase, backed by a Node.js microservices architecture with end-to-end encryption. Our team worked directly with CBUAE auditors to produce the required technical documentation, and integrated with UAE banking infrastructure via certified API gateways.

Regulatory Mapping & Architecture
Worked with ZIINA leadership and legal counsel to map all CBUAE requirements to technical specifications and design the system architecture.
UX Research & Prototyping
Conducted user research with UAE residents, designed WCAG-compliant flows optimized for Arabic and English users, and validated prototypes.
Core Platform Engineering
Built the React Native apps alongside a Node.js/PostgreSQL backend, implementing all payment flows, wallet logic, and admin tooling.

What We Delivered
ZIINA launched on schedule and received full Central Bank of UAE licensing within the project timeline. The platform processed thousands of transactions within its first month, achieving sub-second payment speeds across all supported rails. The app earned a 4.8-star rating on both the App Store and Google Play, and ZIINA went on to close a Series A funding round citing the technical quality of the platform as a key investor confidence factor.
